A Career Built on Making a Difference
I have been providing mental health services since 1985 and continue to be excited about helping people meet their potential. In the last 40 years through my various roles I have had the privilege of overseeing the treatment of tens of thousands of clients and helped develop hundreds of therapists using the best, evidence-based approaches to care. Four decades of supervising care and training therapists have taught me to separate what sounds good from what actually helps. I now bring that perspective to two kinds of work: thorough, objective psychological evaluations for courts, attorneys, and referral sources, and consultation and training for clinicians and agencies who want to deliver better, evidence-based care.
I spent the bulk of my professional life as the Director of Mid-Ohio Psychological Services (MOPS) where I oversaw the work of more than 65 therapists and trained hundreds of therapists before stepping down to explore a more integrated service delivery system in 2016. Prior to MOPS, I worked in a variety of environments including prisons and juvenile detention facilities. For the last few years I served as the Director of Behavioral Healthcare at the Fairfield Community Health Center (a Federally Qualified Health Center) where I focused on developing integrated behavioral health services within a family medical practice framework. For the last five years, I have been providing direct care to a broad range of clients in a private practice setting through BHConsultation, and conducting forensic and general psychological evaluations through EB Evaluations.
